Okotoks Harvest & Blues Festival

Bring the whole family out for a community celebration of the Fall Harvest! This year we've expanded this event (formerly HarvestFest) to be a weekend of concerts, exhibits & activities to celebrate harvest and blues music! Don't miss out on the free activities happening on Saturday, with an expanded line up that include a full blues concert from the back of a flatbed truck! Plus, we've added two evening blues concerts at the Rotary Performing Arts Centre, featuring Tim Williams & Friends and David Gogo. 

Free Family Event

Ethel Tucker Park  |  11 AM - 3 PM

Old-fashioned carnival games, face painting, horse drawn wagon rides down Scarecrow Alley,  petting zoo, farmers market, blues & record exhibit and talk at the library, with John Rutherford. Plus a free concert, featuring blues musicians Mike Watson, Justine Vandergrift, John Rutherford, and Amy Nelson.
All events are free unless otherwise stated.

  • 11 AM - 3 PM: Old Fashion Carnival Games - everyone wins a prize. 10 games for $5 with all proceeds supporting the United Way Okotoks programs.
  • 11 AM - 3 PM: Horse drawn wagon rides down Scarecrow Alley (along South Railway St.). Pick up and drop off at the library
  • 11 AM - 3 PM: Farmers Market
  • 11 AM - 3 PM: Fundraising Barbeque for United Way Okotoks: $5 for a burger, drink and chips/cookies

  • Free Blues Record Exhibit & Talk at the Okotoks Public Library with John Rutherford. Bluesman John Rutherford gives this free informational and entertaining talk about collecting records, blues music, and album art at the Okotoks Public Library.  A gifted storyteller, John will spin yarns about how he grew his collection and his encounters with great blues artists, many of whom he met and played with at Calgary’s famed King Eddy Hotel.  Come enjoy this wonderful afternoon of blues music tales.

An intimate blues concert featuring Tim Williams & Friends.  Tim's win at the International Blues Challenge (in Memphis this past January) as Best Solo or Duo, and Best Guitarist, are just the latest accolades in a career entering its fifth decade. Tim's blend of passionate, soulful vocals and awe-inspiring chops on a number of instruments including finger-style and slide guitar, mandolin and Hawaiian guitar (among others), along with his wry sense of humor and deep knowledge of blues and roots music, continue to win fans everywhere he plays.

A concert featuring David Gogo. David's groove-fueled blend of blues and rock is the basis for a singular and storied music career. He has earned numerous Canadian blues accolades, including five JUNO nominations, a Western Canadian Music Award, a CBC Saturday Night Blues Award, and multiple Maple Blues Awards. He has thirty years of performing and hundreds of thousands of tour miles under his belt. He's played on stage with Johnny Winter, B.B. King, Otis Rush, Albert Collins and Bo Diddley. Gogo can swap road stories for as long as you can listen!
