What’s in the cards for your little getaway? Whether it’s a shopping spree or a spa day, the sky is the limit for your next 48 hours in Okotoks.
Breakfast at Home Ground Espresso Bar
Start the day with a fresh fare breakfast at Home Ground Espresso Bar. The little shop has tables inside, or you can eat outside on the patio and take a look at some of the local shops you will be visiting shortly. Pastries and coffee are specialties; don’t miss the Star Wars-themed fresh roasted coffee bags to take home.
Shopping in Downtown Okotoks is a treat thanks to all of our local boutique owners. There is something at every price point, whether you favour consignment clothing or high-end fashions, we have got you covered.
An international lunch
Have a light lunch and peruse the international treasures at the unique Tribal Connection Market. The menu offers a variety of items that will keep you satisfied until your next meal.
Take the afternoon to relax
Meander down the street a few blocks, and you’ll find the Cactus Club Spa. Comprising two floors, the spa offers full salon and spa services. Indulge in a Thai Herbal Stem Massage-a 75 minute combination of massage techniques and herbal compresses to release toxins, relieve tension and increase circulation. Finish your spa afternoon with a Deluxe Pedicure, with the added benefit of a Paraffin wax treatment.
Head across the street to The Royal Duke Hotel Eatery & Pub. Grab a drink and some grub, and sit out on the patio. Once you’re done, you can check in and spend the night in one of the rooms that the “Duke” offers.
Start with a workout
Start your day with a series of downward dogs at a drop-in yoga class at Yogadown Studio. Once you’re done, take a relaxing shower and get ready for Day 2.
Brunch at a former church
Indulge in brunch at Heartland Café, located in an old church. The menu offers a variety of locally-made comfort food, sure to satisfy any craving. The Chicken & Waffles or Ricotta Hotcakes will go great with a couple of mimosas inside or on the patio.
Make it an art-filled morning
First, make your way to the Okotoks Art Gallery (OAG), home to many creative exhibits featuring local artists. During evenings of the summer months, Art on the Lawn is a great way to see local artwork and listen to live music on the front lawn of the Art Gallery. Once you’re done at the OAG, head over to the Okotoks Museum & Archives and take a trip back in history while perusing through some of the cool collections.
Mix it up with some Mexican cuisine
Feast on some authentic Mexican cuisine at Café Cancun Co., with handmade tacos and enchiladas with your choice of beef, chicken, shrimp or sautéed mushrooms. Relax and enjoy, and be sure to try the 100% Blue Agave lime margarita.
Enjoy an Okotoks night
Head over to The George Traditional House and sit outside, enjoying the outdoor fireplace while sipping on a beverage. All of the food is made in house, and the Fish and Chips are a local favorite. There are some great live bands that perform here, including a local band name HAGGIS who plays original and cover songs.
